Rina

Dhaka - Textile

My name is Rina. I work textile department at Basha Enterprises. I had a difficult time with my husband. He was drug addicted. He abused me severely. I came through such a difficult time in my life. I have five children and so often I did not have any food to feed them. I had to beg. I also had borrowed money I couldn’t pay back.

CUP (Children Uplift Program) has helped me to survive. I received livelihood training, tailoring, embroidery, jewelry and much other training. Once, my life was at risk. I do not want to go back to that darkness. I want to have a bright future. I am very happy to be at Basha Enterprise. I am paying back my loan slowly by slowly.

At first, I was scared to join Basha Enterprises. Now day by day my confidence is growing. When I begged, I could not tell anyone about my work. Now I am proud of my work. I tell my neighbors that I am working in an office. I have dignity in my work. I hope my children will also have dignity in their life.
